"Welcome to Long Crendon Bowls Club"

Long Crendon Bowls Club is affiliated to the Buckinghamshire Bowls Association (BBA) and Bowls England (BE). Our Green is located between the Recreation Ground and the Baptist Church in Long Crendon and can be accessed from either the Chearsley Road or the High Street.
Our Club was founded in 1921 and our facilities include a Clubhouse with a Ladies Changing Room, a licensed bar and catering facilities. A separate Men's Changing Pavilion is available at the opposite end of the Green.
We are now looking forward to our Centenary Celebrations in 2021 and are pleased to announce funding to improve the internal layout of the Clubhouse has been secured with a grant from FCC Communities Foundation (see more details on the project and it's progress in the News Section).
This project will provide a real boost to the club but will also benefit local community groups in the Long Crendon area which need to hire a large function room.
The improvements will also enable us to play Short Mat Bowls during the winter months when the Green is closed.
Our Green is highly regarded and is Starred by the County each year, allowing us to host County matches. We have six rinks, which can be stretched to seven when occasion demands.
The outdoor season runs from mid-April until the end of September. We are a friendly club, with matches against other Clubs on most Saturdays and Sundays throughout the season. We also have fun ‘Roll-ups’ on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and Friday evenings. Club competitions are held during the season, culminating with a Finals Day in August. In addition we enter League and County competitions.
Our Membership year starts at the end of March and covers all skill levels, ranging from beginners to County players. We are always pleased to welcome new Members to the Club at any time of the year, at whatever level you play.
Members often come and watch matches in the summer, sitting round the Green at one of several seating areas, whilst enjoying something from the bar on warmer days.
If you are passing, why not pop in and find out more. Alternately, if you are interested in learning more about the Club, please e-mail us from our Contact Us page or call our Chairman Tony Durkin, whose details can be found in the News section.
